Norid will upgrade the registry system on Tuesday 24 March, from 08:00 to 09:00 CEST.

During the upgrade, the services may be periodically unavailable, as we have to close access to them in order to introduce the new code in a stable and controlled manner.

The changes are:

  • A DNSSEC check will be performed also for host updates. Until now, the DNSSEC check has been performed for domains only. A description of the tests performed will soon be added to Guidelines: Name server checks (Host update).

  • A number of new 'DNSSEC status files' on the Registrarweb, containing various information about DNSSEC secured domains. The new files are:

    • A 'dnssec-by-date' status file showing the number of secured domain per day backward in time. The file is updated every night.
    • A 'dnssec-listing' status file that lists all secured domains per date. The file is updated every night.
    • Four 'dnssec-listing-<date>' status files that are currently empty. The files will be used to store the data (domainlist) from which the future discount calculation will be performed. The files will be updated as the discount dates are passed. Read more about the discount arrangement here.
  • Various minor changes and improvements which are hardly visible by the registrars.
