Domain applicants can see a list of registrars on Norid's website that shows all the companies that have a registrar agreement with us. To make it easier for the customer to find a registrar that fits their needs, this list will now be changed to only publish those registrars that want to receive new customers.

This means that exclusively in-house registrars, registrars that cater only to specific groups of customers, or for other reasons do not want to be contacted by new customers, will not be published in the default list. It will however still be possible to find the complete list of all our registrars, if needed.

How to get published in the new registrar list

If you want to be represented in the list of registrars that seek new customers, you have to log in to the registrar web and opt in on the tab marked Admin' -> 'Public Data’. You also need to add a link to a page at your website where the customers can buy .no domains. The opt-in deadline for the new registrar list is 4 December.  After 4 December, registrars that haven't actively chosen to be published in the new list will no longer be presented to domain applicants. It will of course still be possible to opt in to the registrar list, or change your option at any time after the deadline. The procedure is the same as described above.

How to change the contact information published in the list

You change your contact information by logging on to the registrar web and adjusting your data on the tab marked Admin' -> 'Public Data’. We hope that this will make it easier for people looking to register domain names to find a suitable registrar.
