As informed previously the current payment model with deposits will be replaced by a model where each registrar has their own account which can be filled as needed. The new payment model will be in effect from 1 December 2017, and it is now possible to transfer money to your new account.

The introduction of the new payment model means that from 1 December 2017 all transactions which demand payment will be deducted from the prepaid amount. Registrars that have not submitted a payment on their account by this date will not be able to submit transactions which demand payment (registration, renewal of domains and change of holder).

Each registrar must estimate how much they wish to pre pay based on their level of activity when it comes to registration and renewal of domains. The amount on the monthly invoices you have received from Norid can be an indication on how much you can expect to use in a month.

How to fill up your account

Registrars in Norway must use a unique KID number for all their prepayments. The number is published on the registrar web under the tab ‘Accounting’. Registrars outside of Norway must mark all their payments with the KID number to make sure their payments are registered on the right account without unnecessary delays.

You will receive a payment confirmation by email after all payments. Registrars who also wish to receive a voucher before payment must send an email to info@norid.no.

It will be possible to see a payment history on the registrar web, and the balance will be available at any time. The payment history will be available as of today, and the balance will be changed from your deposit to prepayments on 1 December when the new payment model takes effect.

Deposit

We will now start repayment of deposits to registrars who have submitted their account details. For registrars who have requested to have their deposit transferred to the new payment model, the deposit will be ready for use on 1 December.

Registrars who still have not done so, must send an email to info@norid.no to let us know whether the deposit should be repaid or transferred.
