Forced data conversion in the registration system and introduction of new data model

(Note that the conversion date has been moved from 21 April to 5 May due to extensive network maintenance by one of our subcontractors.)

According to the plan for the new data model, Norid will perform forced data conversion on Saturday, May 5, 2018.
The work will start at 09:00 CET and will last approximately 5-15 hours, depending on the amount of data that remains to be converted after the registrars have done their part of the conversion.

The registration system (EPP and EPP client) and the registrar web will be unavailable during the period. The remaining services are not affected.

Registrars are encouraged to convert own data

According to the plan for the new data model, the system is in a data conversion mode until 4 May. During this transitional
period, the registrars have the opportunity to convert their own data.

The time needed to perform forced conversion of remaining data on May 5 will be greatly reduced if the registrars have converted their own data in advance. Currently only a few registrars have done this, and we hereby encourage registrars to convert as
much data as possible during the transitional period.

Only new data model is accepted after conversion

After the conversion is completed, the registration system will only accept EPP transactions that comply to the new data model.
