Norid has introduced a new registrar agreement. This means that some terms for registrars will be removed from the domain name policy because they are covered in the new registrar agreement. The Applicant's declaration will be updated as a part of this.

In order to make the separation between the domain subscription terms and the registrar terms and conditions clearer, we will update the subscription terms in the domain name policy for Norwegian domain names after the transition period for the new registrar agreement is over. Applicant's declaration (Appendix G) update

For you as a registrar there is one change that is especially important to note: Appendix G: Applicant's declaration gets an update. This means that the registrars that have the declaration built into their own systems must update these. The new Applicant's declaration

  • steps up to version number v3.2 2021-08-24
  • takes effect on 24 August 2021 (Norid's Applicant declaration tool gets an update at that time)
  • works in parallell with the current version v3.1 2019-12-10 until 28 September

Starting on 28 September 2021 the registry system will only accept version v3.2.
