Status 2016-11-04 23:45: All systems are fully operational.

Norid is upgrading the registry system Friday 2016-11-04 between 4:00 PM and 11:00 PM CET. The system may also periodically be taken down without further notice Saturday 2016-11-05 and Sunday 2016-11-06.

The system will be fully operational again no later than Monday 2016-11-07 at 07:00 CET.

Most of the hardware used by the registry system will be replaced with new and upgraded components, and the system will be somewhat redesigned. This will improve the redundancy within the registry system and will also reduce the need for downtime when doing future system upgrades.

Affected services are the registy system (EPP and EPP client), PID automaton, applicant declaration system, registrar web and Whois/DAS.

The name service (DNS) will not be affected other than a potential delay in the publishing of new data during the time of the upgrade.

The registry system is currently offering services from these IP address blocks:

Primary site: and 2001:700:0:412f::/64
Backup site: and 2001:700:0:4531::/64

After the upgrade the registry system will offered from these IP address blocks:

Primary site: and 2001:700:4601:5::/64
Backup site: and 2001:700:4600:5::/64

This being a more complex upgrade we'll be on call from Friday 2016-11-04 at 23:00 CET until Wednesday 2016-11-09 at 16:00 CET. Should you encounter problems or other issues within this period that you suspect is related to the system upgrade you may contact the person on call. We'll be providing you with the on call phone number and also the name of a dedicated Slack channel prior to the upgrade.

The on call phone number will be staffed day-and-night, while the Slack channel and the ordinary Norid customer service will be staffed at ordinary work hours.

If nothing unforseen happens the on call will be terminated Wednesday 2016-11-09 at 16:00 CET. Any subsequent inquiries should be addressed to the Norid customer service ( or phone +47 07355).

If you have questions or other inquiries prior to this upgrade, please contact the Norid customer service.
