New DNSSEC status list on the registrar web
DNSSEC algorithms or digest types that are outdated and no longer supported by the registration system are still registered on some domain names in our database.
Maintenance on Norids test registry system 2025-08-12
Norids test registry system will on tuesday August 12th be unavailable in periods of the day due to maintenance work on the services. After the maintenance is finished, the services will be pointed to new ip-addresses in DNS. The ordinary registry services will not be affected by this.
Amendment to Appendix M in the domain name policy
On 12 August 2025, Norid will update Appendix M: Mandate for the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee, in the domain name policy for .no.
Accidental news letter sent
The Norid webs were moved to run on new infrastructure today. In connection with the move, an old news letter was re-sent. Please disregard it.

Import of data from Enhetsregisteret back to normal operation
The problem with import of data from Enhetsregisteret (The Brønnøysund Register Centre) is now resolved, and the registration system has updated data.
Import of new data from Enhetsregisteret is delayed
We are experiencing problems with the import of new data from Enhetsregisteret (The Brønnøysund Register Centre). This means that the registration system will not be updated with new data from Enhetsregisteret until the problem is corrected.
Limited access to customer data and phasing out of the registrar WHOIS service
The registrar agreement allows registrars to use data from Norid's systems, but only to serve own customers. In order to strengthen the protection of privacy, Norid will implement this limitation in our systems, in addition to it being regulated by the agreement. At the same time, the RDAP service will replace the current registrar WHOIS service. The changes will be implemented on 30 September.
