For the Christmas holidays Norid will have the following opening hours:

Norid now offers authenticated access to our RDAP lookup service, rdap.norid.no. Authenticated queries give extended access to data and an extended set of search functions.

All registrars must pay for at least 100 domain name subscriptions each calendar year.

Survey about RDAP

RDAP is a lookup service for domain data which is the successor to the current whois protocol. The service is currently under development at many registries, and at Norid as well. Due to this we have made a survey which we hope you as a registrar can answer.

Invitation to registrar seminar and dinner

Courses and seminars

Norid will arrange a seminar for registrars on Thursday 17 November in Oslo, with a dinner the night before. This seminar will be held in Norwegian only.

Authenticated access to RDAP

Norid now offers authenticated access to our lookup service, RDAP. Currently this is only available in our test environment, rdap.test.norid.no. Authenticated queries give extended access to data and an extended set of search functions.

The new registrar web is now live

The updated registrar web is now live. You will find the same information as before, but we recommend that you log in and familiarize yourself with the new interface.

System Maintenance 2022-08-30

Norid is planning system maintenance on the registry system on Tuesday 2022-08-30 from 9 AM to 11 AM CEST. The registry system (EPP and the EPP client), PID automaton, applicant declaration system, registrar web, whois, RDAP and DAS will be unavailable during the maintenance window. The name service (DNS) will not be affected.

Registrar seminar 17 November 2022

Norid will arrange a seminar for registrars on Thursday 17 November in Oslo. This seminar will be held in Norwegian only.

Norid AS is ISO 27001 certified

In June Norid achieved an ISO 27001 certification which covers all of our services, systems, locations and employees.

SSL/TLS certificate renewal – 2022-06-21

Operations

Tuesday 2022-06-21 at 09:00 – 11:00 CEST, Norid will perform renewal of the SSL/TLS certificate for the following registry services: epp.norid.noeppclient.norid.noregistrar.norid.no This will not affect the availability of these services. NB: New intermediate certificate will be installed.

IPv6 connectivity on authoritative nameservers

Norid wants to motivate for increased connectivity on IPv6 on authoritative nameservers under .no. We are now introducing some measures to heighten the awareness for registrars and nameserver operators on IPv6 connectivity:

New name on the email list for registrars

Operations

Norid has changed the name on the email list for registrars from registrar@lists.norid.no to forhandlere@norid.no. At the same time the list was moved to Exchange as the new email list service.
