Launch of new version of dnscheck.norid.no on 17 November
A new version of dnscheck.norid.no will be launched Tuesday 17 November. Norid now uses the test tool Zonemaster, which has been developed in a collaboration between the registry IIS (.se and .nu) and AFNIC (.fr).
Reminder– registrar seminar 18 November 2020
Norid will arrange a digital seminar for registrars on Wednesday 18 November. This seminar will be held in Norwegian only.

System Maintenance Tuesday 2020-09-22
Norid is planning system maintenance on the registry system on Tuesday 2020-09-22 8 AM to 10 AM CEST. The registry system (EPP and the EPP client), PID automaton, applicant declaration system, registrar web, whois, RDAP and DAS will be unavailable in short periods during the maintenance window. The name service (DNS) will not be affected.
This year’s seminar will be held online
Norid will arrange a seminar for providers on 18 November 2020. The seminar will be held online.
Launch of new technical website on 26 August
On 26 August Norid will launch a new technical website. This website is a portal to open technical information aimed at domain name providers as well other technical specialists, like ISPs, developers, etc.
New versjon of dnscheck.norid.no

Reminder – policy change for allowed DNSSEC key algorithms and digest types
Reminder: Norid will on 2020-09-01 change the technical requirements for registering DNSSEC-data on domain names. The change will affect which
DNSSEC key algorithms and digest types are allowed for domain names.
Registry system upgrade Tuesday 2020-06-23
Norid will upgrade the registry system on Tuesday June 23th, from 08:00 to 10:00 CEST. The registry services will be unavailable in short periods during the maintenance window.

New opening hours for phone service from 15 June
From Monday 15 June we change the opening hours for our phone service on phone number +47 73 55 73 55. New phone opening hours will be 10 am - 2 pm, Monday to Friday. Emails to info@norid.no will be processed from 9 am to 3 pm as previously.

Downtime for emails to info@norid.no on 15 April
We are doing a system upgrade on Wednesday 15 April 2020 and emails to info@norid.no will therefore not be processed on that date. Emails will be queued and processed the next day. You can contact our customer service by phone on +47 73 55 73 55 during the upgrade.

Keep updated about your balance
You receive notifications about your balance from Norid's systems. These notifications are important in order to avoid that registration and renewal of domain names fail.
Domain registration remains normal
Despite the fact that nothing is normal these days, the registration figures for Norwegian domain names remain normal. Other activity in the registry service also remains regular. Our daily operations continue undisturbed. The graph below shows the registration numbers for the period between 1 February and 17 March 2020.

Temporary stop in planned changes to Norid’s systems
As everyone else, Norid follows all advice given by the authorities to limit the spread of the corona virus. This means among other things that all employees work from home. IP access lists for the Norid EPP service
The Norid EPP service is protected by an IP filter which restricts access to the service to the address blocks which are registered in the registrar web (https://registrar.norid.no). Correction of invoice distribution
Invoices dated 31.01.2020 were wrongly issued as regular invoices instead of cash invoices. There will now be issued credit notes to correct these invoices. Then we will send out new, correct cash invoices. Cash invoices for February will also be issued shortly.
Support for DNSSEC algorithms Ed25519 and Ed448
Norid introduces support two new DNSSEC key algorithms for DS records in the .no zone and sub zones.
Zonefile production information
Norid is changing the zonefile generation times. Starting at 3rd March, zonefiles will be generated every second hour all day every day of the week. I.e at 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22 and 24 (CET).
Update – error in invoice distribution
Invoices dated 31.01.2020 were wrongly issued as regular invoices instead of cash invoices. We are working with our system supplier, TietoEvry, to correct this in the best possible way. Please note that the invoice should not be paid. We apologise for the error, and will send out more information as soon as we can.
Change in SSL configuration for web services and for the EPP service
Norid prepares changes to the SSL configuration for all our regular web services and the EPP service. The changes are due to changed recommendations, which now state that SSL protocols lower than TLSv1.2 pose a security risk and should be phased out in Q1 2020.
